Images for Graded unit:
These images were taken for my Graded Unit, the images were to capture the intricate folds of the roses. the black and white image of the rose creates a moody atmosphere. The highlights on the droplets with the image in black and white makes droplet stand out.
The Newborn shoot was to capture the moment of the little one. There is intimate images of her hands, feet and ear. These are nice for families to have as keepsakes as their child grows.
The images of the cake shows that it is a baby shower with the cake topper "Oh Baby", the close up of the pumpkins is to help the viewers understand the theme and the time of year.
Photography Career:
Having a photography career can start from being employed by a company to being self - employed or a freelance photographer. This comes from many different genres of photography.
I mainly enjoy Product imaging and Landscape which are very different styles and can be difficult to make a living. Due to this I focused my passion towards newborn photoshoots and fine are photography which have proved to be generally successful. While shooting fine art photos of flowers there is no limit on creativity using props and colour. Now-a-days flowers have bright and unusual colours such as blue Lilies.
Exhibition:
Creating an Exhibition starts with resizing images and colour management, I did all these all on photoshop, The images were re sized to 40 x 50cm 300dpi. These images were used for a presentation for college which I had to present to my lecturer. At the beginning of the Unit i had to make a online portfolio with images I would think would be good for exhibition these can all be found on my Behance: Portfolio on Behance
I have Created an Online Exhibition on this website under the name 'Exhibition' this shows all the images above with resizing and descriptions.
One strength of my exhibition is that the theme is distinctive, some of them are stronger than others but overall are appropriate for this unit. Some weaknesses in this images are possibly the quality, the resizing of the images decreased the image quality making it ever so slightly pixilated.
Post - Production:
In Post - Production I started off with the standard editing such as exposure, contrast and texture. Once I had adjusted these I then adjusted the saturation and Vibrance in some of the images such as the pink flowers, as it did not want the flowers to be washed out.
In the black and white image, I increased the contrast to emphasize the creases in the baby's feet. In the images where they have fog or haar I decreased the dehaze as I did not want to lose the significance of the fog as it played quite a roll in the image.
Preparing for Interview:
I prepared for an interview for a university looking for creative photography. The first thing I had done before the interview was to ensure my Power - Point was ready, correct and presented well. The next thing I had done was to take notes for when I will discuss the images such as location, techniques and camera settings .
I ensured I had water beside me to keep a clear speech and took my time to talk so I did not mumble or stumble over my words.
Turning any distractions such as TV's or phone's off. Notifying any family member or friends that you have an interview so to keep the noise down or to exit the area you are in so that you would not be sidetracked by on going things.
