About

Hi there! I am a small photographer located in Scotland, I often travel all over the UK from the Scottish highlands all the way to English coasts. I capture the beautiful landscapes and scenery with plenty photographic techniques. I like to encapsulate moody, dramatic and atmospheric images as we photographers like miserable conditions to make great images!

The Three sisters

The three sisters are located on the A82 on the way towards Ballachulish. The reason these mountains are called the three sisters is because of the three ridges. This image has been captured in a panoramic style to show the size of the mountains and how far they go on for. This photograph is one my favourite panorama's, there is so much contrast and the different tones of grass as well as a central composition really helps pull the image together.

wee white house 1.jpg
Wee White Hoose

This is one of the most photographed places in Glencoe, Scotland. Captured in December 2021 while we were experiencing the first cold snap of the winter. The contrast of the white house and dark landscape help creates a moody image, the dark  grey sky with low hazy clouds make the photograph atmospheric

Buachaillie Etive

One of the most iconic images from Glencoe is this one! Pictured outside King's House Hotel with a stunning view of Buachaillie Etive and beautiful wildlife. This young stag stood and posed for the camera on a beautiful brisk early December morning.

A shallower aperture had been used to make sure the background was still visible although slightly out of focus to make the deer as sharp and stand out as much as possible, this the main focal point while still seeing the beautiful landscape behind.

Fairytale Stag

This image looks like something out a fairytale! while everyone else was crowding round other stags that were more confident around them I slipped away quietly to photograph this shy, timid mature stag. He emerged outside the skirts of the trees and grazed peacefully, for a split second he had looked up as I snapped this incredible shot. The light beautifully highlighted the left hand side of his face leaving the rest in shadow, in photography terms this makes a subject very dramatic; however in this instance it appeared angelic.
waterfall on mountain 1.jpg
Meeting of the three waters

This breath taking image looks like something out of Iceland but it is in fact located just outside Ballachulish, Glencoe.

The image and location is named "meeting of the three waters" due to the fork in the waterfalls path and another waterfall that meets the stream which is positioned out of frame. The image lacks a composition but contains a main focal point due to the high contrast it is clear what wants to be seen (the waterfall). A wide aperture was used in order to keep everything in frame sharp and in focus. A long exposure had been used to show the movement of the water and the sheer volume of water cascading down from the mountains.

buachille etive mor 2.jpg
Buachaillie Etive

Buachaillie Etive mor is the most well known and photographed Munro peak in the North West Scottish highlands. The mountain can be viewed on the A82, best way to view the mountain is A82 towards Ballachulish.

A beautifully detailed image of Buachaillie Etive mor from a different perspective. Taking a closer look at all the grooves and nooks in the mountain side. The black and white image creates drama and contrast making such an amazing atmospheric image.

Minimalist Stag

A minimal yet eye catching image. This photograph was also taken in King's House Hotel, I used a shallow aperture to make the stag very sharp, the close up image lets viewers see the deer closer than they normally would. I had painted out the background to isolate the main focal point. Having the image in black and white shows viewers the different tones in the deer's fur that may not be picked up on.

Leading lines | Wyming Brook

This beautiful fairytale image with meandering waterfalls creating leading lines into a central composition.

A pop of colour | Wyming brook

This photograph was taken in Yorkshire at Wyming Brook nature reserve. I had myself up to capture the little of touches of Autumn as the season slowly creeps up on us and makes an appearance. The little pop of yellow creates a main focal point and contrast as it is framed by the intertwinning trees.
