Photographer: Yousuf Tushar

Yousuf Tushar photographed this image in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Dhaka is Bangladesh’s capital; thousands of poor people go to Dhaka seeking work unfortunately forced to do hard labor such as carrying coal on their heads.

The photographer has shot the image with the light behind the subject making them appear as silhouettes. The photographer has also used a fast shutter speed to freeze the people walking. The composition has leading lines as you follow the image from the left side of the image to the right. A large aperture has been used in order to keep the whole image sharp and in focus. The photographer has the image in monochrome, this is to create an atmosphere black and white s to make the image more dramatic this makes the viewers feel sympathy for the people in the image as they have to do all this hard, dangerous work for them to survive.

Photographer: SL Shanth Kumar

This photograph was photographed in Mumbai. The photograph shows a huge wave crashing into a shanty town and taking a local fisherman down, he was rescued by other fishermen before being swept into the sea. Due to climate change temperatures on land and in the sea are rising, the sea levels also will also begin to rise which is another effect of climate change, with the sea levels rising small islands and some major cities in the future will be submerged by water.

In this image the photographer has shot from higher up looking out over what is happening. With looking at the other houses the photographer must of taken a snap shot even though there is a composition and it looks thought through the photographer would have had to hold onto a house or something as there isn’t much of a ledge. The photographer has sued a fast shutter speed to freeze the motion of the waves crashing and the person that has been knocked over. The buildings create a composition as the ones closer to the photographer are bigger and the ones further away are smaller creating an arrow towards the person who is being swept away.
